Brand identity design for a Newcastle small business by Invincible Brands

Branding for Newcastle small businesses

Most small businesses don’t have a design problem. They have a clarity problem. People can’t tell what makes you different, so they compare you on price, or they don’t get in touch at all.

Build your brand

Hello, I’m Dan. Before I set up Invincible Brands I worked brand-side at Clarks Originals, New Balance and adidas. Now I help owner-run businesses across Newcastle and Northumberland work out what makes them different, then build a brand that says it clearly. More about me →

Does this sound familiar?

  • You’re great at what you do, but your website sounds like every competitor’s.
  • Your logo was done quickly when you started, and you’ve outgrown it.
  • Referrals come in, then go quiet after they look you up online.
  • You get asked “so what do you actually do?” more than you’d like.
  • You compete on price because nothing else about you stands out.

If two or more of those are true, it isn’t a logo you need first. It’s clarity. The logo comes after.

Brand strategy for small business - planning and strategy session

How a branding project works

  • Free 30-minute call. You tell me about the business and what isn’t working. I tell you honestly whether I can help and which option fits.
  • Discovery session. If we decide to work together, we do this on Zoom and it takes as long as it needs. This is where I ask the awkward questions.
  • Strategy and messaging. I write up who you’re for and what makes you different. You sign it off before any design starts.
  • Design. Usually two or three concepts built on the strategy, not on guesswork. We refine one together.
  • Hand-over. Final files, guidelines and a walk-through, so you know how to use it.

You deal with me the whole way through. There’s no account manager in the middle.

How much does branding cost?

Most agencies won’t tell you until you’ve had three meetings. Here’s roughly what it costs with us. You’ll get a fixed quote before we start.

Brand refresh

From £400

Up to 2 weeks

Best for: a logo that’s nearly right but needs updating.

Includes: logo rework, colour and font update, file pack.

Brand identity

£500 to £800

2 to 4 weeks

Best for: new businesses and rebrands.

Includes: an original logo from three concept routes, colours, fonts, file pack and short guidelines.

Brand strategy + identity

From £1,500

4 to 6 weeks

Best for: businesses repositioning, or struggling to explain what they do.

Includes: strategy session, messaging, full identity and guidelines.

For context, UK agencies typically charge £5,000 to £15,000 or more for a full identity. There’s a fuller breakdown in our logo design cost guide.

Tell me what you need. I’ll reply within 24 hours, normally the same day, with any questions, then send a fixed price in writing.

Brand identity and guidelines designed by Invincible Brands

Branding questions we get asked

A logo is the mark. A brand is what people think and feel about your business: what you stand for, how you sound and how you look everywhere. A good logo comes out of knowing the brand. It doesn’t replace it. There’s more in our guide to small business branding.
If people understand what you do and your logo is roughly right, a refresh is usually enough. If you’ve changed what you offer, who you sell to, or people keep misunderstanding you, you probably need the strategy work first. I’ll tell you honestly on the first call.
Yes. See logo design. If a logo alone won’t fix the problem, I’ll say so before you spend the money.
Up to 2 weeks for a refresh, 2 to 4 weeks for a brand identity, and 4 to 6 weeks for strategy plus identity. It mostly depends on how quickly feedback comes back.
Mostly owner-run businesses, start-ups and small teams: accountants, consultants, clinics, trades, hospitality and professional services.
No, but plenty of clients like to. I’m in Ponteland, just outside Newcastle, and happy to come to you across Newcastle and Northumberland. Zoom works too.
If you’re a £20m business with a marketing team, you probably should. If you’re a small business, you’ll get more senior attention and a price that makes sense here.
Logo files in every format you’ll need, colour and font specs, brand guidelines, and (on the strategy tier) a written brand strategy and messaging document. You own all of it.
